Captação com Causa: AI assistants that help Campinas nonprofits with grant calls
How Captação com Causa, created by the FEAC Foundation with Instituto Phomenta, uses three CORRE.SOCIAL AI assistants to read grant calls, answer questions and suggest project ideas.

The process
Captação com Causa was created by the FEAC Foundation to diversify the income of Campinas nonprofits, together with Instituto Phomenta. CORRE.SOCIAL developed the project in its R&D lab, which applies AI and research to the social sector. It runs on three AI assistants, each one a block of the flow:
- Grant sheet: the AI extracts the key information from the call.
- Q&A: answers questions about the call and knows how to say no.
- Project ideas: suggests ideas made to measure for the organization.
- Grant sheet extracted by AI
- Q&A that knows how to say no
- Project ideas made to measure
How it was without CORRE
Without a tool like this, each organization reads the whole call on its own to find out who can apply, which documents are required and how to structure the proposal. It is a manual process that does not scale, repeated for every new call.
How it works with CORRE
The organization starts from a list of calls, with filters by date, theme and location. Each call becomes a sheet extracted by the AI, like the one for the Cultura Viva call, with funder, dates, amount, themes and target audience, plus the eligibility requirements and the required documents. In the Q&A, the AI answers based on the call and knows how to say no: to an association with 2 years of CNPJ, it answers that it cannot apply, citing item 7.1. The AI writes the draft, and the organization's team reviews it.
"It [the writing robot] helped us improve the quality of our proposals and better understand how to structure a project."

What we learned
- Turn the call into a sheet. Funder, dates, amount, themes and target audience sit in one place, next to the requirements and the documents.
- Filter before reading. The list by date, theme and location lets the organization read first what makes sense for it.
- An AI that knows how to say no. By citing the item of the call, the Q&A shows where the answer came from, and the organization can check it.
- Listen to those who used it. The words of PROGEN, a participating organization, are the feedback the project publishes.
